It is the most greater of the Islands Eolie. it is to the center of the archipelago and it is the best base to make trips in all the others. It has 10.000 inhabitants and all the services, to the Hospital in the supermarkets, but it also has many isolated places, both in the country and next to the sea. To Lipari there are three harbours: Marina Corta where they berth the hydroplanes;Marina Lunga or Sottomonastero where they berth the ships;Pignataro' s harbour that is the harbour tourist and it is consideredshelter harbour. On the shore of Marina Lunga, in the summer there are many long harbours where is possible to berth small boats. The fractions of Lipari are: Canneto, to km 2 from the center are considered the bathing zone of Lipari with long beaches with pebbles and with the houses all near ones to the sea; Acquacalda to km 8 from the center with a long beach with pebbles; Pianoconte that is the zone in the hill of Lipari to km 5 from the center; Quattropani, in hill to km 8 from the center and km 5 from the sea of Acquacalda.
