it is the greenest of the Islands Eolie and there is still a strong production of Malvasia and capers of high quality. There are 4.000 inhabitants and it has 3 communes: Santa Marina Salina, where the there is the harbour principal and another small harbour tourist; Malfa, to north to km 8 from the harbour; Leni to km 12 from the harbour and to km 4 from Rinella where there is another harbour. it is famous also the fraction of Pollara, to km 8 from Malfa, where the movie has been made "Il Postino" with Massimo Troisi.
